ABOUT MS. MAVER
I love, love, love teaching! Not only do I love teaching, I love the opportunity I get to learn from my students. It is amazing to learn alongside of some pretty bright kids at Discovery Elementary School. We have an enormous amount of fun while exploring, discovering, and growing in third grade.
I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Education in 2003 from FAU. I started out teaching as a substitute and got my first official class in 2003 teaching second grade. I taught second grade for about 9 years. I came to Discovery when it first opened. I love working here! This will be my fifth year teaching third grade. I still believe I am an extremely lucky teacher to work at Discovery, the best school in Broward County. I love what I do, I love where I do it, and I will love your children as my own.
I am mom to two gorgeous daughters, Kayla and Kelsea. Kayla is in college wanting to work in the education field. Kelsea works as a sales director and has two adorable dogs, which I call my grand-puppies. I have one dog myself, her name is Kensey. (Yes, all my kids' names start with K) I talk a lot about my children in class.
I am spending a lot of my free time (away from "school stuff") with my niece, Elizabeth. She is 6 years old and she is simply amazing! She brings a smile to all who love her. Her aunt definitely loves her! I talk a lot about Elizabeth, too. In March, my nephew turns four, Frankie is so adorable and a true delight for our entire family. He is the best child ever, he says the funniest things. He loves reading books, which I think is wonderful. Other than that, I love football. Since I went to FSU (many years ago), I am a TRUE NOLE fan. But I also enjoy going to Dolphin games and relaxing on a boat on the weekends. You may be surprised to know that Ms. Maver also loves Nascar races and horses. I was born and raised in Hialeah, where the famous Hialeah Race Track is located. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do! I enjoy keeping busy.
I have one older brother and one younger sister. I love spending time with my family and my boyfriend. We love getting together for bar-b-ques (my favorite kind of food) and playing games together. We also go on camping trips and other fun places!
